Privacy Policy

The contents of this policy may be revised at any time.

General Privacy

Clients' privacy will be respected and no personal or sensitive information will be shared or sold to third parties without prior permission, with the exception of such cases required by law.

Client Data

Clients' data will be handled with care and no data will be retrieved and kept except for the purposes of backups and data recovery. In such events, backup media provided by the client will be used or the data will be temporarily stored on my own media. Should data be backed up or recovered to my own media, such data will be kept temporarily only for the purpose of ensuring that the data is copied back onto media owned by the client. After this, the data will be secure erased from my own media to ensure no sensitive data can be recovered.

Client Passwords

Clients' passwords will be kept confidential and only used for the purpose of providing requested services. While certain passwords will be required for proper servicing (e.g. Windows password for an Administrative account or Wi-Fi / router passwords for network configuration / troubleshooting), most other passwords will not be requested.

Should other passwords be required to perform certain services (e.g. troubleshooting or configuring email accounts), such services will be offered on-site and whereby the client can type in such passwords when needed.

I will never ask for banking passwords.

It is recommended that any passwords required in order to perform services (e.g. Windows passwords) be changed temporarily to another password and then changed back to the original after servicing. This is not a requirement, but it ensures that the clients' regular passwords are not shared. As an alternative, the user may make a temporary local Windows account with administrative privileges using a different password which may be used for servicing.

Clients who are concerned about sharing any passwords may request on-site servicing in which the client types in the passwords when needed. Please note that hourly rates will apply for on-site servicing.

Clients may request that I look away or leave the room before typing in any passwords.

Spyware and Malicious Software

I will never knowingly or purposely install spyware or malware on clients' computers or devices, including, but not limited to: viruses, worms, trojans, backdoors, keyloggers, rootkits, logic bombs, ransomware, cryptominers, etc.
